Introducing our Certified Reiki Master Teacher
You may be wondering what a Certified Reiki Master Teacher is doing in a tattoo shop. When envisioning the space of the tattoo shop, a Reiki healer felt radical. So much of tattooing revolves around ritual, trauma, pain, healing, and creating beautiful art from that process.
It makes sense that a Reiki master could hold space in a tattoo studio, set up shop, and work alongside other tattoo artists conducting their own work as well as being available to support other artists and clients as well. It is a grand experiment for sure, however, one we are excited to see where it goes!
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a form of energy medicine where practitioners channel and transmit universal “life force energy” through their palms in order to encourage healing on the four bodies:
Emotional
Physical
Mental
Spiritual
Each session is a joint endeavor between the Reiki practitioner and client.
Reiki is spiritual in nature, there is no association with religion or one’s spiritual beliefs. People use Reiki to relieve stress, heal trauma, relax, and pain management.
People receiving Reiki report feeling calm, relaxation, a glowing radiance, and feelings of peace. Everyone’s experience varies.

According to his many hashtags, MateoLuis or “ML” is a radical alchemist, Certified Reiki Master Teacher (CRMT), Queer, Trans, Person of Color (QTPOC) healer, warrior healer, LatinxTransHealer, and a deaf-parented (coda) healer.
As a proud 1st generation Cuban-American, MateoLuis’ Colorado roots run deep as he was raised in Arvada. He is a trans masculine of center/non-binary person whose pronouns are He/They. Members of the deaf communities know him as “ML” (his name sign) and hearing people call him MateoLuis.
MateoLuis’ background in the field is quite extensive: he has been practicing Reiki/Energy Medicine since 2014, Card Reading since 2001, and Stones for 35+ years (raised by a geologist). An addition to his services within the last three years is breathwork (breathing exercises). In addition, he has experience with trauma-informed care and serving as a Mental Health First Aid Responder and Instructor.
In his sessions, MateoLuis is all-inclusive, meaning depending on what is needed, you may encounter cards, breathwork, and stones in addition to Reiki and other Energy Medicine tools. ML is fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and sessions are offered in either spoken English, ASL, or a combination of both depending on client preference.
Outside of work, MateoLuis enjoys traveling with his dog, Rosco, food, and various artistic pursuits in the name of Radical Alchemy.

Pricing
A typical Reiki session can be anywhere from 60-90 minutes depending on the type of session. My sessions are all-inclusive, non-traditional, and include a quick orientation at the beginning of the session. Sessions can be held in either spoken English, American Sign Language, or a combination of both.

Add-on to any tattoo or piercing session with any approved artist at the Disruptive Ink shop.
Tips are always appreciated.
Note: All sessions have a 2-hour minimum. $50 an hour after 2 hours.

Cleanse, bless, or reset home, work, school, or any space of your choosing. Each session includes a custom kit. Contact for specifics. 2-hour minimum. Billed at $125 for each hour increment thereafter.

Session Information: A typical session starts with an orientation, filling out paperwork, an opportunity to ask questions, and set intentions. Clients are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing, bring water, something to jot down notes (paper or phone), and their own headphones if they wish to listen to music during the session. Clients will also be asked to remove your shoes during the session.
